About the practice

What is telepsychiatry?

Psychiatric care delivered by secure video. Evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning and medication management can all happen this way for many outpatient concerns.

Will I see a physician?

Yes. Every visit is with Khalid Salim Khan, M.D., a board-certified psychiatrist, from the first evaluation through follow-up.

Who is the practice for?

Adults 18 and older with stable outpatient concerns, such as depression, anxiety, attention difficulties, sleep problems and screen-related difficulties, who want a careful evaluation and are comfortable with private pay and video visits.

When does the practice open?

White Moon Psychiatry plans to open on November 1, 2026. Fees and scheduling details will be posted on this site before then.

Location and eligibility

Which states do you serve?

Dr. Khan is licensed in Arizona, Utah, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. At opening, appointments are planned for patients located in Arizona. Other states will be added as each one is ready. The contact page shows current status.

Does it matter where I am during the visit?

Yes. You must be physically located in a state where the practice is seeing patients at the time of every visit, and you will be asked to confirm your location each time. Traveling outside those states means rescheduling.

Do you see children or teenagers?

No. The practice serves adults 18 and older.

Do you see Medicare patients?

Federal rules limit private-pay arrangements with Medicare beneficiaries. If you have Medicare, mention it when you first contact the practice so eligibility can be reviewed.

Fees and insurance

Do you take insurance?

No. The practice is private pay and does not bill insurance. An itemized superbill can be provided if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement; reimbursement depends on your plan and is not guaranteed.

What do visits cost?

Fees will be listed on the fees page before scheduling opens. You will always know the cost before a visit.

Treatment

Do you evaluate adult ADHD?

Yes. The evaluation weighs development, day-to-day impairment and other explanations such as sleep, mood and anxiety. It may take more than one visit. No evaluation guarantees a diagnosis or a prescription. More about attention and focus evaluations.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

Not at this time. That includes stimulants, benzodiazepines and other scheduled medications. Non-controlled options can be discussed when appropriate, and with your permission Dr. Khan can share his assessment with your primary care clinician, who makes an independent decision about any controlled medication.

Is this therapy?

Visits focus on psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and medication management, with practical guidance where it helps. If ongoing psychotherapy would benefit you, Dr. Khan can recommend a therapist or coordinate with one you already see.

How often are follow-up visits?

It depends on your situation. Visits are usually closer together while treatment is being started or adjusted, and spaced out once things are stable.

Urgent needs

What if I need help urgently?

The practice does not provide emergency or crisis services and is not staffed to respond after hours. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. If you are outside the United States, contact your local emergency number.

How quickly are messages answered?

Messages are usually returned within one to two business days. Messages are not monitored for emergencies.
