Arizona
For adults physically located in Arizona at the time of each visit. Dr. Khan is also licensed in Utah, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois; those states will be added as each is ready.
The approach
Symptoms rarely arrive alone. Sleep, work, relationships, medical history, past treatment and personal goals all shape how a person feels, and what will help.
Many people reach a psychiatrist after a string of brief appointments, several medication trials, or a diagnosis that never quite fit. That pattern usually reflects how care is organized: short visits and heavy caseloads. It says little about the person, or about the clinicians doing their best inside that system.
This practice is built around time to listen and to think. Appointments leave room for history and context. Diagnosis is approached carefully, aiming for diagnostic clarity when possible and naming uncertainty when it remains. Medication is used when it helps, alongside attention to sleep, habits and physical health.

How clinical thinking works here
Understand, formulate, plan, reassess.
Psychiatric care is rarely a straight line. New information, treatment response and changes in your life all feed back into the picture.
- Understand
- Your history in your own words, including the details brief visits skip: development, sleep, substances, medical conditions, prior treatment, and what has or has not helped.
- Formulate
- Weighing competing explanations. Several conditions can look alike, and more than one can be present at once. The aim is a working understanding you can follow, with any uncertainty stated plainly.
- Plan
- Options explained with their tradeoffs: medication, therapy referral, changes to sleep and routine, or further evaluation. Decisions are made together.
- Reassess
- Follow-up checks what changed. When the picture shifts, the plan shifts with it.
The stages overlap and repeat. That is how careful psychiatric care usually works.
Services
Areas of care
Three core services cover most needs. Four areas of particular interest run through them.
-
Comprehensive Psychiatric Clarity Evaluation
The starting point for new patients. A detailed assessment of current concerns, history, prior treatment, sleep and daily functioning, ending with a working formulation and recommendations.
-
Ongoing Psychiatric Care
Follow-up visits for medication management, monitoring, and changes to the plan as your situation changes.
-
Diagnostic Clarification and Medication Review
A focused second look at a prior diagnosis or a complicated medication history, for patients and for referring clinicians.
Areas of particular interest
- Sleep and circadian rhythmHow the timing and quality of sleep interact with mood, focus and energy.
- Gaming and screen useFor adults whose gaming or screen habits have started to cost them sleep, work or relationships.
- Lifestyle and mental healthActivity, nutrition, stress and metabolic health as part of the psychiatric picture, where relevant.
- Attention and focus concernsIs it ADHD, or something else? A careful look at sleep, mood, anxiety and other causes. No stimulant prescribing.

In outpatient practice he works with adults who want a careful evaluation: diagnostic questions, mood and anxiety symptoms, attention concerns, sleep, and the habits and health factors that shape how people feel day to day.
He explains his reasoning, welcomes questions, and makes treatment decisions with his patients. You will see the same physician from your first evaluation through follow-up.

Who the practice is designed for
Outpatient telepsychiatry suits many people, though not everyone. Being clear about this up front saves time and points people toward the right level of care.
